How OEProof verifies fitment
OEProof documents fitment for sealing parts, filters and repair-related components in the GM 6T30 / 6T40 / 6T45 automatic transmission family.
What we do differently is narrow and specific: we verify fitment before we list a part, we publish what a part does not fit, and we say so openly when our own data is not closed yet.
Where our data comes from
Every technical statement on this site is traceable to a specific source, and we record what kind of source it is. We distinguish three levels, and we name the level whenever it matters:
- Manufacturer documentation
- OEM service bulletins, recall documents, product guides and published engineering papers. The strongest level. Where we rely on it, we can name the document.
- Specialist industry catalogue
- Professional transmission-parts catalogues. Strong for part identity and side assignment, but not the same thing as a manufacturer statement. Where a claim rests on this level, we say so on the page rather than presenting it as manufacturer-confirmed.
- Not established
- Where we looked and did not find a source, we publish that we did not find it. A blank field is safer than an inferred one.
We do not upgrade a source level to make a claim sound stronger. If an assignment comes from specialist catalogues and no manufacturer document was located, the page says exactly that.
Technical verification labels
- CONFIRMED
- Fitment cross-checked against independent catalogue data, not supplier listing text alone.
- CONDITIONAL
- Probable, but one variable is still open — usually generation or production date. The quote will state what to confirm against the VIN.
- UNDER VERIFICATION
- The part is in our data, but its application is not closed. We will not publish a fitment claim we cannot support.
- NOT QUOTED
- We will not sell this yet. For repair kits this means the contents list is not confirmed.
- CLAIM REJECTED
- A fitment claim exists in supplier material but is not supported by our check. We show it so the buyer can see the conflict we found.
Commercial process
OEProof handles buyer inquiries and sourcing for the listed non-original aftermarket transmission parts. Quote Request means you can ask for a current quote check by sending the OE, quantity and destination. Commercial Check means the technical reference is public, but availability, purchase price, MOQ and lead time must be checked before we quote. Neither label guarantees stock.
What this page is not
We do not publish figures we have not measured, and we do not describe capabilities we have not exercised. Where this site states a rule about how a part should be quoted or recorded, it is a rule we are asking you to hold us to — not a claim about volume, history or scale.
